2000 Calorie Doughnut Burger In Family Pub Chain
Greene King introduces a 2000-calorie burger to the menu of its Hungry Horse pub chain! You will need to be hungry; it contains 53 grams of saturated fat. Sounds wonderful to me, but not everyone agrees!
A certain Mel Wakeman a lecturer in Applied Psychology says “it is irresponsible, it’s a heart attack on a plate”. She claims not to be a killjoy, but questions why such a choice is available in this sort of ‘family friendly’ pub?
Well, its available because customers presumably want to buy it. Alternatively, they could go for one of the other dishes on the menu; a hot chicken and bacon salad (at just 393 calories).
A Hungry Horse spokesperson said “All the nutritional information on our menu is available on our website and in our pubs, so that our customers can make an informed decision about what they order and eat”.
Here, here, say I!
